Structure and occurrence of SR protein families

The task was to identify all members of the SR protein group, to delimit them from other similiar proteins and to get information on their structure based on available information in gene databases.
This research was done by searching in genecards[13]. Additional information was provided by using SCOP[24] whenever a genecards search was unsuccesful or the domains of the protein were needed. The original research paper[8] referenced another paper[2] which they used to get information on the evolutionary background of SR and SR-related proteins across metazoans.
